Customer Review: Kodak M829 Digital Picture Frame
This digital picture frame is very easy to use even without the manual. Everything you need is on the touch screen. Very easy to use from your digital camera, flash drive or the computer. Also the videos that I tried from my digital camera played very well and where clear. I haven't as yet tried any music. The clock feature that turns the picture frame on and off is a very convient idea but be sure you use the 24 hour cycle, I didn't understand this at first and couldn't get mine timer working right. I did have a little trouble coping picture files to my SD card but I think, I need to put them on my computer first and see if that is what is need to get them on my SD card, not sure about this right now, but I will try it and see if that works. Overall I'm very please with the Kodak digital picture frame and would recommend it to anyone as a gift for the Holidays.
Customer Review: Does not work like it says
I purchased this product two days ago and I am taking it back. I purchased this paticular frame because it goes with my Easyshare camera, and I like the word EASY when it comes to some of this Hi Tech stuff. I have to say it was easy to get my photos on, no problem, but The Video feature didn't work. The videos played very slow and the audio was slow and muted, when I played it for the first time it frightened my daughter, she thougth there was a monster in the frame. I called Kodak, they said to send it back. I don't want to purchase another one and have the same problem again.

Customer Review: Great Pricing for Great Item. Shipping was fast
Item was received quickly. Item is great to hold pictures and play videos. Great as gift for family and friends
Customer Review: An OK frame for the money
This is an OK, average product. Very basic software, relatively easy to use and I like the fact that it allows a 1gig space on the SD card. The only problem that is very irritating is that you can not randomize the photos. It just loops them in the order they are on the card.

This article will give you some easy beginner photography tips to get you to start taking better photos quick. So, let's begin!

One of the most important skills you need to learn in photography is how to frame your photos. Get good at framing shots and you will take better photos looking like the pros in no time. Now, there are lots of tips on how to frame shots and lots of these may conflict with each other when used together. Some also don't work with certain settings. You as a photographer must judge whether the setting is right for the technique you are going to use.

Technique One: Balance

One easy technique you can use is balance. There are two different types of balance.

Asymmetrical Balance

This type of balance is when you have a photo balanced through the depth of field or of some sort of that. Both sides aren't identical, but the weight of both sides makes the shot look balanced. For example, you could have a photo with a dog in the front left and a cat in the back right. It is balanced asymmetrically.

Symmetrical Balance

This balancing is when you take a shot and both sides look the same. It can be identical the same like an orange cut in half or a shot with two people in the same pose looking at each other.

Technique Two: Lines

Lines are very effective tools for taking photos. They will be encountered in lots of shots you take. So it is a good idea to get better at using them. You can use lines to lead to the subject of interest to make for more powerful shots.

Technique Three: Simplicity

Many beginners take photos that are just too complex. Try to make your photo simple by focusing on primarily one subject a photo.

Be sure to use these techniques and practice as much as possible!

Customer Review: Poor documentation. Awkward to use.
I was looking for something simple to use. This is not it. It is not intuitively obvious and the documentation is very poor. Also I can rotate a picture and it stays rotated but if I zoom a picture it reverts back to the original. This is my first experience with a digital frame so maybe I'm just a dummy but I don't recommend it. I didn't load their software because I once bought a Kodak camera and the software for that was very intrusive and annoying.
Customer Review: I like it for basic photos
When I bought this for my grandparents, I was looking for something easy. To be frank, I just wanted a flash drive port. All I had to do was plug the frame in, insert the card, and hit go. Poof! Easy as pie for grandma and grandpa. I have no intent to explore all the features that probably made this so expensive, but if you're in the same situation I am, it works. And on a Mac too. :)

If you are looking for the cheap DVD players in the traditional as well as in the online market then you will have to perform a detailed market survey. This survey will help you to get the "best deal". This deal refers to the availability of best product which is preloaded with the advanced features and comes with best price. You must consider things such as brand name, product quality, resolution, price, substitute products, contrast ratio, warranty and customer service. All these factors help to ensure that the product will be at par with its value.

Most of the modern day cheap DVD players offer most of these features but you must protect your purchasing decision from cheap and duplicate products. These duplicate products are low on quality and can damage your resources besides delivering a low-quality performance.

If you are looking at some of the most acclaimed names in the world of DVD technology then big names such as Sony, Samsung and Philips DVD players are the perfect options for you. Philips has been an uncrowned leader in the DVD world as almost all of its products were able to win the laurels of the customers.

The Philips DVP4000, Philips DVP 3120 and Philips DVP3026 are some of the highly acclaimed DVD players in the present day market. These advanced and affordable Philips DVD players offer a high degree of portability, reliability, performance, quality and consistency at affordable prices. One thing is for sure, these high quality yet cheap DVD players will never let you down when it comes to performance and quality, even in the long run.

Most of the modern day customers feel that afford ability and quality cannot come with a single DVD device, this is not true. The Philips DVD players have shown remarkable strength when the delivery of high-quality performance at affordable prices in the short as well as the long run is concerned. This is the sole reason why Philips has been able to create such a robust goodwill for itself on a consistent basis in the last few decades.

From all of the books, advertisements, and products in stores it would appear that no one continues to use a film camera. This isn't true of course. Although a digital camera can offer much greater control during the editing process and perhaps even a cost savings over the long run, a traditional film camera still has advantages for some consumers. One of those being that if their film camera is a good one and meets their needs, there is no reason to change.

However, for those who do decide to switch to a digital camera there will be significant differences to which they must adjust. Certainly the technology behind a digital camera makes them different; how images are captured and stored, the optics themselves, pixels, resolution, and so forth. But there are a handful of basic changes to which even those who photograph on a very limited and casual basis will need to adapt.

Response Time

With a more affordable, point-and-shoot type digital camera there can be a significant delay between pressing the button and the camera actually taking the picture. These cameras are somewhat like a small computer. During the lag time it is focusing but this can cause some great shots to be missed.

Of course, spending the time to shop for a camera with less lag time is one solution; and certainly many of the more expense models don't suffer this issue. However, there is a simple adjustment which can produce a significant reduction in the lag time. The photographer can set up the shot, aim the camera at the subject, and press the button down half way and hold it. At this point, the digital camera will begin the process of focusing. Then, a couple of seconds or more later, when the photographer and subject are ready, the button is depressed entirely and the picture is taken almost immediately. Obviously, this requires the photographer to anticipate and prepare before taking a shot.

Battery Life

Because much of what a digital camera does consumes energy from the battery, they are known to drain batteries very quickly. One of the particularly power greedy functions unique to a digital camera is that of powering an LCD screen. Again there are a number of things users can do to assure they don't run out of power and to reduce the rate at which the camera uses the energy.

To avoid a trickling discharge, batteries should be removed from the camera when the device won't be used for more that a week or two and, likewise, a digital camera should be powered off if the user doesn't anticipate taking a shot for another 30 minutes or so. Using the "sleep mode" is good also, to assure that even if the user forgets, the camera gets powered off.

Using the viewfinder instead of the LCD screen to frame shots is wise when you wish to save power. Users can also avoid using flash whenever their subject is more than 12 feet or so away, since the flash will be ineffective anyway and drain power needlessly. Those traveling with a digital camera also need to be sure to carry a backup battery to avoid problems.

A final recommendation is to use other power sources when possible. Use AC power when performing various functions such as downloading or use a card reader to download from the memory cards and remove the camera from the process entirely. Pictures can be edited on the computer rather than on the camera to save additional power.

The Viewing System

A digital camera often has an optical viewfinder which is separate from the lens through which the camera takes the picture. Thus, when a subject is somewhat near, what a photographer sees, and what the camera sees are two different things. Using the LCD to frame a shot is also difficult because in order to see the screen, the camera is held away from the body, making it difficult to hold the camera steady for a good shot. The fix for this is to use the "correction marks" visible through the viewfinder which approximate the border of the image that the camera is seeing versus using the LCD screen. This also allows the user to keep the camera closer to the body in a steady fashion.

Another option is to buy a camera with an electronic viewfinder which takes the image captured by the lens, and electronically transfers it to a display screen allowing the user to accurately frame the picture. Use of an electronic viewfinder however will increase power consumption.

The third option is to buy a digital camera with a TTL mechanism. With TTL, the photographer views a scene through the same lens that records the image and is thus able to frame a scene accurately. This option however is generally available only on more expensive camera models.

Despite these differences, digital cameras do offer some tremendous advantages; from being able to view photos instantly, edit them, print them at home, share them easily on the internet, and so forth which make them worth the small effort to adjust to their unique characteristics.

This is a major question that many photographers may ask. The decision however is based on how much time you are willing to put into reviewing the cameras and what they offer, what you intend to do with the camera, and considering the options as they come your way.

Questions to Consider:

What are my intentions?

Am I creating Web Pages?

Am I ultimately attempting to go pro?

What type of camera would suit me best?

Do I need high-resolution or low-resolution?

What do the pixels matter?

Do I want film or digital?

What are you intentions? If you merely want a camera to perform a few tasks here and there, such as taking your own family photos, you might try out the line of SLR low-end models or else the standard compacts.

If you are off to the journey of pro photography, you will need an interchangeable camera, to produce the types of pictures desired, especially if you are going for sport photography. If you are venturing to snap wildlife shots, or create, documentary pictures then you will need to consider the rangefinders or the wide-angled cameras. As for documentaries, you may want to toss in a high-quality camcorder, since you could possibly go on air with your doc. Hey, a moment of wishful thinking, but it could happen. One thing you want to keep in mind is that at what time you consider a camera for high-quality pictures, you want to stay in the range of medium formatting cameras since many will deliver quality. You will need a large frame camera if you are considering films, yet other cameras have proven to work wonders.

If you are creating web pages, a low-resolution camera will do just fine. The resolution for web page images should remain at 72dpi (dots per inch). If you use a higher resolution it will only slow the process of page downloads.

Now is the question, are you going pro or are you flying so low? If you are going pro, you may want to research the line of AF SLR cameras in 35mm logic. On the other hand, if you are thinking so low, you can view the Direct Vision lines, Digital and Film Compact, and the likes.

What type of camera would suit you best depends on you. You will need to consider your budget, compatibilities of your systems, film, or digital, and the like.

Do you need high or low resolution depends on you again. At least to a degree, the decision is yours. If you are creating web pages then a standard camera with low-resolution is your best bet. Most times, you can find cheaper cameras for website creation.

The pixels do matter. Since if you are going to work as pro off the web then you will need the highest pixel camera to achieve high quality photos. On the other hand, if you are designing web pages you will need the lowest pixels, say at around 72dpi for the best results.

Well do you want film or digital? Digital works off a scanner, printer, and computer, or even from a card or camera. While some of the film, cameras require that you purchase a roll of film to snap shots. If you want to keep investing in film that may be outdated someday as digital takes over, then go for the film. On the other hand, go digital and produce your own photos on a software program and computer. The pictures may come out more to your likings.

The Canon EOS 40D is the new Canon DSLR model that replaces the ever-popular Canon EOS 30D. At first, the EOS 40D looks to be a somewhat restrained upgrade to a popular model; there are several interesting new features that make this a much better camera.

The new Canon EOS 40D comes equiped with a 10-megapixel APS-C format CMOS sensor and a new DIGIC III image processor. The same dust-reduction technology found on the Canon EOS Rebel 400D / XTi, has now found its way onto the 40D. Other notable improvements bring the 40D ever closer to the flagship Canon EOS-1D series. The menu system now uses the same paging system as its more expensive 1D and 1Ds siblings. The 40D now supports both RAW and sRAW image capture formats, along with a change from the prior 12-bit to an impressive 14-bit RAW format. This is all made possible by the use of a single DIGIC III processor, the same processor now being used on the EOS 1D. Improvements in the auto-focus system include cross-type AF points for F5.6 or faster EF and EF-S series lenses. A larger, brighter viewfinder is included in the update, along with the ability to chose from several different focusing screens. Following in the footsteps of the EOS 1D, the 40D features a larger 3-inch LCD which finally has Live-View. The frame rate is also improved to 6.5 fps although this was not always obtainable in performance tests.

One of the first things we noticed was ergonomics of this particular camera. It just feels "good" in the hand. For a prior XTi/XSI user upgrading from the Rebel models, you would gain an imediate improvement to the cramped feeling of the Rebels. The build quality is superior, and Canon has finally seen fit to include weather sealing around the battery compartment doors. Another thing you notice is the sound of the shutter. Much quieter than in previous XXD models. One of the most welcome features is the inclusion of the current ISO setting in the viewfinder and top LCD. It looks like Canon finally listened to those wanting this feature.

The EOS 40D performs remarkably well in performance testing. The 10-megapixel CMOS sensor in combination with the new DIGIC III Image Processor makes a ideal system. In tests along side the Canon EOS 30D and a competitive model such as the Nikon D200, an extension of the cameras dynamic range readily becomes apparent, especially in areas of shadow. RAW images are typically very sharp right out of the camera. Canon cameras gained a reputation for their noise free images, and the 40D does not fail to deliver. Both ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 images were relatively noise free, and certainly were usable for most situations. There is a new noise reduction option available that removes chroma noise.

The EOS 40D is by all accounts, a very nice DSLR and a worthy successor to the EOS 30D.

What is the LCD Touch of Color anyway? You may ask. Is it a publicity stunt of Samsung, a technological innovation, or simply a marketing strategy thought by Samsung? Maybe we can say that it is a little bit of each.

The competition in the market in LCD TV has been increasing over the years. One must stand out in the market to get noticed. Samsung has thought of a brilliant plan to do this. They introduced Touch of Color to the market. This proved to be successful because they turned out to be a hit among the consumers as they are wildly sought after. The design of Touch of Color is unique. It has a distinctive amber color which is combined with the conventional black for an elegant and attractive appearance. People want their television to still look attractive like a piece of art even though it is not being used. Other manufacturers are expected to follow this trend with their own unique features in the years to come.

The design of Touch of Color is made for the outside of the TV. It does not make any sound or light up when turned on. But of course, the more important thing there is whether your TV will perform brilliantly when you turn it on. Samsung does not let you down. It offers 1080 pixel picture for an ultimate HD resolution which delivers to you clear and crisp images capturing the real meaning of high definition TV.

Response time offered by Samsung TV is 4ms and the frame rate is 120 Hz. Their Auto Motion Plus technology has the ability to double the frame rate from 60 Hz to 120 Hz. This technology allows the TV to alter between framed for a smooth shifting. This makes it great for watching sports or other shows and movies which have many fast moving actions since this model of LCD handles motion well unlike the earlier models.

Samsung TV offers a contrast ratio of 50,000:1, a great improvement from the previous year 25,000:1. Contrast ratio establishes the ability of the TV to generate dark blacks or dazzling whites. Having a higher contrast ratio will help avoid an image that is washed out which can be observed in TVs that have lesser contrast ratio.

Using a built-in Ethernet port, access to free RSS new, stocks, weather, sports, and many more is made possible by InfoLink.

The design of Touch of Color is sure to be a big hit with consumers. This might probably start a drift towards having TV as an art piece instead of just a simple TV. The superb design of Samsung's Touch of Color will certainly be worth your money.

You can find very few people who are not into taking photos. Everyone would probably take snaps even for the occasions. With the advent of digital cameras, the entire process has been made easier. There are some top rated cameras one could depend upon.

Fujifilm FinePix F100 fd is the first in the list and it has image quality of 12 mega pixel with a 28-140mm zoom lens along with other specified options. It also owns the pride of having the best ever Face Detection Features ever seen in any other models. It has the ability to detect faces from any angles possible.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50 stands the next having a 3-inch LCD screen which can be tilted along with 15x zoom function. The night shot mode is simply competitive along with slideshow mode. Long zooms are possible with steady shot image stabilization. It also has the advanced sports mode to make things pretty easier.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35 is simply another option to depend upon. It is a compact and handsome digital camera having a lot of in-built intelligence. Wide angle is made possible with the 4x,25-100mm Leica zoom.

Nikon D60 is the best one for the beginners as well as the professionals having digital SLRs along with a compact option. It has special features of dust reduction to stabilize the quality of the image taken. For all those who are looking out for sharing the photos with your friends and family and looking out for a solid second body, you will be simply glad to choose the
Nikon D60.

The Olympus E-420 has the special function of digital SLR with daylight viewable LCD, contrast detection along with increased frame rate. It has a compact zoom lens measuring 14-42 mm making very easy to be used.

One day you spot an interesting small stone wall.Just past that you notice a pretty young girl playing in a field of flowers.Behind that you notice an old weathered barn with an old tractor sitting in front."Ah", you say to yourself, "the perfect photo". But is it really? No.It may be the perfect series of photos, but that's a different story.

This picture would fail as a great shot; A) because it is far too complex a composition, and B) the camera has no way to effectively focus your attention on four different subjects on four different planes at the same time.Let's break this down to the more realistic shots.

Photo #1 - - - You get down low enough that you see the stone wall in the foreground with the classic barn and tractor in the background.Using selective focus, the wall is sharp and the barn and tractor are a soft hazy pastel type background.

Photo #2 - - - You lean over the fence, zoom in on the young girl with the field of flowers as the background.Using selective focus, you make the girl in sharp focus and the flowers around her gradually get softer and softer.Your camera is at enough of an angle that your do NOT include the barn and tractor in this image.

Photo #3 - - - Getting the owners permission first, you climb over the fence. You compliment the little girl on the pretty flowers; then you shoot past her using the flowers as the foreground and the barn as the background. You may again want to get down low so that the flowers become more dominant.Using selective focus, you focus on the flowers about one third of the way into the field, making them sharp and still having the rest of the field and the barn in soft focus.

Photo #4 - - - Since you already have the owners permission, you walk around the field until you get close enough to the barn and tractor. This time you decide to get down really low (you are laying on your stomach). You fill 2/3rds of the frame with the tractor.Using selective focus, you make the tractor in sharp focus and the barn is now soft focus.

These are the basic shots I would shoot in this situation. Now admittedly there are other possible combinations. You could; (for example) put the tractor in the lower 1/3rd of the frame, then focus on the barn and deliberately make the tractor itself go soft focus. This way the tractor is framing the rest of the shot.To be honest there are dozens of possibilities, but each of those still boils down to one main subject and one supporting background (or foreground).

Yes, the camera can technically take a shot with everything in it.But the human mind is only going to focus on one story, or one set of foreground/background images at a time.Your job is not to capture the universe of possibilities all at one time and confuse your viewer.Your job is to point out the individual miracles within the universe so that your viewer can appreciate them more than they ever have before.

The most powerful images in history are those that are simple and direct. They tell a story. The viewer should immediately be drawn to your image and feel an emotional impact. This can not happen if he or she has to visually sort through all the clutter you left in the image. If you want to be award winning, if you want to get published, if you want to sell your work . . . keep it simple.
